
Put the lentil in water for overnight (a lot, because it's good. One portion is never enough.) The next day boil it slowly with onion, laurel leaf and salt. Fry some smoked bacon and mix it to the pot. You can add some flour to make it thicker. Cook until it starts tasting good. Put into plates, think about tejföl really hard and enjoy, if you can. What is expat?
Same works well with bean, you can put smoked ham with the bean, or, smoked turkey or other more healthy stuff, and it tastes just like hungary (don't forget the paprika.
It means that there is no sourcreme (tejfol) there? And what about turo?
Túró? Sourcream? You are in pure delirium! I'm living in Belgium, not Germany or some obscure West-Balkan country...

We have pretty good sourcreme over here, in spite of all chances, and a really tasty turo can be prepared from buttermilk (sort of aludtej); little waiting (2-3 days), little warming (not to boil) then spin, discard supernatant (or drink it as iro), use pellet for further processing as turo. In case you have buttermilk there.
