A cause worth attention - guerilla gardening!

There are really not many causes I feel aligning to (mostly because they handle the problems stupidly) but there are some exceptions, like bookcrossing or like this one I have just discovered! So, pick up your shovels and a few bulbs and plant something! Flowerpower :)

...and last but not least (and connected to the thematic on the "flower" side):

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, i !!!!! :)

Indeed, and I hope my postcard gets there sooner or later (I sent it late I admit.)

What plants would you suggest to plant, lynx? Which could gather all the asbestos and lead from the roadside and stay alive?
I just drove across downtown here and saw that a highrise building disapperared and there is community garden at its place instead! I have seen this transformation only the other way around before. I am not sure I would eat the veggies coming from there though.

But: what plants would you plant?

Spinach is collecting everything and salad. But these you have to water.
I saw cabbage in Karoly kert last year.

I guess I would rather go for flowers, bulbs can be great fun (lilies, tulips), they just re-appear out of nothing the next year! I would also consider tree, trees are great under all circumstances. (even if it's just an acacia)

True, trees! Specially in the summer. The city put trees on corners in the neighbourhood. They need a few years for shade, but already give nice mood.

The bulbs are blooming only for such a sort time, and the plant itself is not much to look at afterwards. Nevertheless, I do like them too.
Trees, yes, my favorite is apple. Some bushes? Roses?
I saw a good idea last year: they were buliding the road somewhere in the outskirts of the city and they planted hybrid oat on the new soil-patches: It kept the soil in place but couldn't seed so the original vegetation grew back.
