Where have we been?

Here is s pic of what we've climbed just a few days ago (it is not our photo as we only came back yesterday evening, but there'll be some soon, I promise)

a hint to help you guess: the capital (not of the country but of the autonomous territory) is named after a herbal plant (also a spice). If you can't guess I'll give you some more clues (and photos) soon! ;)

If you were "at home", than the Pyrenees.
No snow, so not the Alps ...

no, we were abroad: in a country where neither of us has ever been! and yes, these mountains are not that high, I doubt that there is much snow even in winter.

Where neither of you have been ... on the south ... red soil (this C should know)... not very far.
Luxemburg? :)

who told you it was not very far? :)

OK it wasn't , but it's not too close either. Some help: its climate is subtropical, but it is in Europe. Come on girls, you can do it! :)

You're almost there! yes, it's an island, but not in the Mediterranian...(you will get a beer this WE anyway - as well as the answer- but try to guess :D)

Crete?
Does it have mountains like this? I don't think so.

it actually does: the highest point is almost 2500 meters! - but I don't think that there is a plant called Heraklion :)

the highest point of this island is a bit below 1900m. And actually I have already told i which one it is - so keep on guessing, nana ;)

another hint: the father of Otto von Habsburg was deported (and died) here in the early 20's.
