Top 5 love songs of all times

I have just heard about (the apparently wonderful) Nick Cave concert in Pecsa and it brought me back memories of all kinds (e.g. my "Let Love In" CD residing with nanaimo for years and listening to songs at i's place on the bigbig stereo of her father...hmmm.)

Anyway, this song was played at the Budapest concert and for me it is one of the nicest love song ever - it is so simple and yet beautiful. Other songs on the list would include (of course!) "One" from U2 and at least one PJ Harvey (I cannot decide which one). How about you? Do you think "November Rain" could make it? What about all the Beatles songs?

The text is here.

Ooooh, Pink Floyd, of course! And then "Romeo and Juliet" from the Dire Straits.

But perhaps not the "Dreams are my reality". :-) and not even "You are my destiiinyyyy" although it is nice.

Oh yeah, that was good (just a few corrections: the nick cave cd was mine, I copied myself from J.s collection. You gave me a casette (how old are we, geez) with Nick Cave. And the stereo never belonged to my dad (he never had the capacity nor the interest to collect enough money to buy a stereo). It was A, who SOLD it to me (no comment to this one))
Anyways, select a few songs is nearly impossible. No beatles, I like it but I am emotionally indifferent when listening to it.
And this brings up my problem: There are songs which are waking emotions in me, by a memory or by the lyrics, and there are others which I appreciate because of the music...you want me to list the crossectioning ones I guess...
Some REM, for the good old times sake (Night swimming maybe)...Sinead Oconnor Empire, or another, Massive Attack Distracted girl maybe. And Nick Cave and Kyle Minogue and the wild roses is also there. And there are sooo many artists I should list here
I am working on an all-time favorite (or "my very soul") cd, but I think I wont ever finish the editing of the list. I think I could come up with, say, forty not having a set order of liking (whoa I think this expression doesnt exist)
OK., toooo long comment I stop it.
Thanks for the song lynx!

Hm, I also really like Night swimming but it never occurred to me that it was a lovesong...but I absolutely agree with you, it must have some nice memories associated with it, otherwise it can be the best lovesong on earth and still leave me indifferent.

So WHO had my Nick Cave CD for years, then? :-) I have no clue. The cassette was Henry's Dream, I still have it :-)
For the stereo I meant i's father's one: the first "real big" stuff I had the privilege to listen to. Yours is in safety at my Mum's , who refuses to use it (it is nanaimo's! why would I use it? she says all the time...) and yes, the fact that A actually SOLD it to you is beyond comprehension. Pff.

I'd have a guess, where your CD-s are, beside my U2-s, but we'll never get it back :D

HEY there was another post just above this, by i - and it has disappeared! After I have spent many days thinking about a recent lovesong, I demand it back! Otherwise the whole knowledge will be lost to the world forever! (or is it just a technical problem of some sort?)
