Musical update and "Chanson de Satie"

A few weeks ago my favourite game has been taken away: that is our "music provider", also featuring the musical links to the right..."working on new tools that will implement the environment for artists and their producers" does not sound good to me. I am guessing that we can say goodbye to that lovely webpage (containing loads of Hungarian songs as it was a French-Hungarian invention.)

All what's left to us is this , a meager substitution but all that is available. You do not need a login, just the newest Flash version and a click on the text "all uploaded files" in the upper-right corner to get access to the (rather slow) alphabetical list. And then you can post stuff like this:

boomp3.com

The other thing I wanted to share with you is a song and a singer I have discovered recently (we have seen a small animation with this music at a short-film festival with tarelle) and I find it haunting. You can listen to it on a fellow blogspot page, on the top. Arthur H has a calming-deep voice and sings jazzy stuff. Also comes handy if you want to cut your veins. Enjoy!

Dear lynx,

it was really good to have radioblogclub, with its playlists, for which a great game was to try to guess the personality of the one who had put together one specific playlist! The "working on new tools that will implement the environment for artists and their producers" sounds like they have been attacked by some "contents" company (what an awful terminology)

Why is that that these companies consider that providing a way to play a song is stealing business from them? On the contrary, it is a great advertising medium for the albums those companies could sell, once people are convinced by the quality of the music. Listening to an online-mp3 is not as being able to play it whenever on whatever music player, with CD quality. Those companies are still trying to sell top-hit singles, bad commercial music only benefiting from a week of craze generated by some media buzz. They can't see this business model simply cannot last. That was the business model you could have when cassettes came and made it possible to copy full-length vinyl albums with reasonable quality. Then, music companies had no incentives any more to "do their job" : nourish and edit young and promising artists and letting them time to mature into long-lasting well-known bands. That is when all these idiotic music from the 80s, one-single-and-you-die bands emerged. It was 25 years ago, now, and things have changed: no protection technology will prevent to copy and distribute rapidly shitty singles heard on the radio, "stealing" business from them. now the real value of music resides once again in the quality of the music, the splendid boxes that are sold around the album, and the trust you put in this or that artist which you get to know, little by little, album after album.

Sorry, I got into one of my fad, once again.

Lynx, do you want me to include "la chanson de Satie" within your post? Or if you want to do it yourself: you just have to go to the source of the lyricsfly webpage and look for the < embed > ... < / embed > code, copy and paste.

I actually don't mind to keep the link for the other blog instead of embedding the song: that blog has quite a lot of good music, also from radioblog :-)

Really nice blog, indeed (in spite of the misspelling of "Le" --la-- chanson de Satie).

But we can have both the ink and he song, you know...

Even the comments are long ... I just wanted to say, that you two write too much.
The second youngest blogger is out with his father for an hour. So, if I finished all things, I will read the last 2posts. ALL! And I'll be up-to-date ;P

They are long, but they are good, honest, loaded with information and opinion, I really like it (though I should print them to be able to read them really carefully...

Yes, or a projector to read it from the wall. Or even better: somebody who reads it for me :D
