Scary movie

There is this film that I wanted to watch since 2003 (turned out I was right not to rent it out for the lonely Sydney nights when my flatmate was away). A friend had put it so simply later on, when it finally came out in the cinemas in Europe: DON'T WATCH IT. (He had seen it himself and we actually had seen horror-films together so he had a good estimation both on the film and on my limits.)

So I was true to this advice till yesterday night, when the film was on the TV program. I simply couldn't resist. I was telling to myself that it is the American remake that is supposed to be less scary than the Japanese original. And that there will be commercials from time to time. And that I will leave skype on in case I need comforting.

Well, even though I knew the story quite well (I made this friend tell it to me, being absolutely sure that I will never see it) the film was scary. Even though I knew when to look away. So I don't even put a picture in here, I don't want to see her on the blog for weeks. (But to conclude: the film is good. And I managed not to leave a lamp on for sleeping, so I am quite proud of myself. I'm a grown-up. )

And on a lighter note: does any of you like horror-movies at all? I can't remember watching any with either of you...but it might be my memory. Refresh it, please!

Liking horror movies? That is complicated. I mean, they affect me a lot, but I wouldn't say it makes me like them.
I had the "luck" to see the japanese original. It is more than scary, but professional work with artistic pictures. I wouldn't watch it again and I wouldn't ever suggest others to watch it. I guess I don't like horror movies.
And in this case, the better movie the worse.
E.g. the very bad remake of Frankenstein what I saw in 3D cinema was ridiculous, so easier to handle.
